The suggestions, made just two days after the election, essentially mirrors what became the Trump team’s legal strategy. The January 6 committee in November released text messages Trump sent Meadows on January 6 saying the situation had “gone too far and gotten out of hand,” while urging Meadows to get his father to “condemn this shit ASAP.”
