Three men have been charged for the 2018 killing of notorious Boston mob boss James “Whitey” Bulger, who was beaten to death at a federal prison in West Virginia where he was serving a life sentence.

Paul “Pauly” DeCologero, 48, Fotios “Freddy” Geas, 55, and Sean McKinnon, 36, have all been charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree murder.

DeCologero and Geas both remain incarcerated, with Geas still being housed at United States Penitentiary Hazleton in Bruceton Mills, West Virginia, where Bulger was killed.

McKinnon was on supervised release and was arrested in Florida on Thursday, according to the Justice Department.

Bulger spent more than 16 years on the run from the law after fleeing Boston in 1994, when he was tipped off about a pending RICO indictment against him for running a violent Irish-American organized crime empire. Bulger was finally captured in 2011 in Santa Monica, California, in response to a tip the FBI received.
