ພັນລະຍາຂອງ Hal Finney ໃນການຈັດງານການກຸສົນໃນຄວາມຊົງຈໍາຂອງລາວ

  • Hal Finney’s Twitter account is active again.
  • His wife, Fran Finney used it to post about a charity event.
  • Many suspect that Hal Finney was Satoshi Nakamoto.

Hal Finney, one of the earliest pioneers of Bitcoin who died on August 28, 2014, will get a commemoration during a Bitcoin charity event. His wife took to Twitter and announced the “Bitcoin Running” event in a thread. He was the first individual to receive the first BTC in his wallet.

“Bitcoin Running” For Hal Finney

Through runningbitcoin(dot)us, the official event page, organizers are accepting donations in both Bitcoin and fiat money. A free commemorative t-shirt will be given to the ones contributing at least $100. A Hal Finney collectable autographed by Fran Finney will be given to the top 25 donors. Over $8,600 has already been raised for the cause, including $4,023 from Fran. The organizers are looking for a $50,000 fundraiser.

There will be a half marathon between January 1 and January 10 2022. The distance might be covered in a single day or throughout the course of the competition. Prior to being diagnosed with ALS, Hal Finney routinely ran long distances, and the Running Bitcoin event website refers to the half marathon as Hal Finney’s “favorite distance.”

Naturally, some people were taken aback by Finney’s unexpected comeback. When Jameson Lopp, chief executive officer of Casa, a virtual wallet and security firm, saw that the account had lately followed his own Twitter handle, he immediately hypothesized that it may have been hacked.

Some, however, were quickly noted that Finney’s account was possibly revived by whoever owns it in order to prevent it from being “purged by Elon.” But Fran Finney, independently verified that she was using his account to make the announcement. Hal Finney is among the top contenders in the “Satoshi Nakamoto mystery”.

The suspected pseudonymous individual that founded Bitcoin. He also wrote a whitepaper of the asset and launched initial reference implementation of the flagship crypto asset. He also created the first blockchain database as a part of the implementation.

Up until December 2010, Nakamoto was actively involved in the creation of the biggest cryptocurrency. Finney revealed his paralysis on the BitcoinTalk forum in March 2013. Up to the time of his passing, he was still working on bcflick, a piece of experimental software that employs Trusted Computing to fortify Bitcoin wallets.

He and his wife got unsolicited calls throughout the final year of his life seeking a 1,000 bitcoin extortion. They were the victims of swatting, a fraud in which the offender contacts emergency via a fake phone number and claims to have committed a terrible crime in order to summon armed police to the victim’s house.
