Henry Cavill ບໍ່ໄດ້ກັບຄືນມາເປັນ Superman

Just weeks after announcing his return as Superman to the DC films, Henry Cavill has been kicked out of the Justice League once again.

This makes his last appearance as the Man of Steel . . . an awkward mid-credits scene in the deeply mediocre Rock-led superhero film Black Adam.

The news of Cavill’s return to the DCEU came alongside an announcement that he would be leaving his lead part as Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher. Now, Cavill will be neither Superman or the Witcher, which is a real shame given how good he was in both roles.

“I have just had a meeting with James Gunn and Peter Safran,” Cavill posted to his Instagram feed Wednesday. “I will, after all, not be returning as Superman. After being told by the studio to announce my return back in October, prior to their hire, this news isn’t the easiest, but that’s life. The changing of the guard is something that happens. I respect that. James and Peter have a universe to build. I wish them and all involved with the new universe the best of luck, and the happiest of fortunes.

“For those who have been by my side through the years . . . .we can mourn for a bit, but then we must remember . . . Superman is still around. Everything he stands for still exists, and the examples he sets for us are still there! My turn to wear the cape has passed, but what Superman stands for never will. It’s been a fun ride with you all, onwards and upwards.”

It’s a classy note from a classy guy. A part of me wishes that this means he’ll be returning to The Witcher, but I fear that ship has sailed—and most likely because of creative differences between Cavill and the show’s producers.

This story is still developing. I’ll have further thoughts on all of it and what it means for DC soon. Stay tuned.
