Johnny Pizzaro, 31, was sitting in a vehicle in the Greenpoint neighborhood around 5:15 a.m. to enforce “no parking” rules in the area, when a gunman approached, opened the driver’s car door and shot him multiple times in the face and neck, an NYPD detective said.

Pizzaro was pronounced dead at a local hospital shortly after.

NBC and Universal Television, which produces the show, told Forbes in a statement they are “incredibly saddened” by the incident and are working with law enforcement as the killing is investigated.

The gunman—whom the NYPD described as a 5’4” man with a thin build, a black hoodie and black pants—fled the scene, according to police.

The alleged gunman’s motive was not immediately clear and no arrests have been made.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ office told ມື້​ກໍາ​ນົດ​ສົ່ງ it offers its “deepest condolences to the victim’s family, friends, and coworkers during this difficult time,” and pledged to “work diligently to bring the suspect to justice and stem the tide of gun violence we are seeing.”
