ລາຍລະອຽດຂອງສັນຍາສະບັບໃຫມ່ຂອງ Gavi ຢູ່ FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona teen sensation Gavi is expected to sign his new contract with the club on Thursday this week.

On the Blaugrana’s books since the age of 11 when scouted while playing for Real Betis, the 18-year-old broke into the first team at the start of last season and has become a permanent fixture for club and country in midfield.

Over the past few months, however, a worry at the back of fans’ and no doubt president Joan Laporta’s mind has been that the youngster’s contract expires on June 30 next year.

This also means that the Andalucian would be allowed to negotiate a move away from the club from the turn of 2023 onwards, and the likes of Liverpool and Bayern Munich have constantly been linked to the scrappy midfielder while even prepared to pay his €50mn ($50.8mn) release clause.

According to reports, however, the player and his family have only ever entertained staying in Barcelona. And this week, ອີງຕາມ SPORTS, Gavi will sign a new contract on Thursday which runs until 2026.

As seen with renewals for midfield partner Pedri, Ansu Fati and Ronald Araujo as of late, Gavi’s new deal will contain a Paris Saint Germain-proof €1bn ($1.01bn) release clause, with Barca having learned their lesson from the summer of 2017 when the Ligue 1 giants shocked the football world by activating Neymar’s.

Ironically pushing his fellow La Masia graduate out of Ronald Koeman’s plans in the 2021/2022 preseason, Gavi is also expected to take Riqui Puig’s old number ‘6’ jersey which was also worn by current coach Xavi Hernandez in his hey day.

Furthermore, Xavi has every faith in his charge, who often keeps Frenkie de Jong out of the starting XI as well this term.

“I am not surprised by Gavi’s performance because I see him train every day,” the coach said after his recent MVP showing against Sevilla.

“I know what he’s capable of. The way he plays, he is pure intensity, personality, hard work, heart, discipline (…) I don’t want to be unfair on the others, but he was perhaps the best player tonight,” Xavi added.

This week then is perhaps the most important of Gavi’s young footballing life so far.

Not only should he secure his immediate Barca future, but he is also likely to feature against one of his most fancied suitors in Munich away in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
