The Hyped New Nike X Sacai Collab ທ່ານບໍ່ສາມາດໃສ່ໄດ້

It’s only available in Tokyo between December 24 and 30 and you can’t wear it but it’s still guaranteed to have hypebeasts queuing round the block.

Chitose Abe’s cult Japanese brand ຊາໄກ is joining forces with hyped New York based foodie collective Ghetto GASTRO on a pop-up café at experimental restaurant space Tokyo Burnside by the en on Tokyo creative agency.

The sacai GASTRO menu features Ghetto GASTRO’s signature waffles in the shape of a sneaker sole complete with the famous Nike Swoosh. It also features some eminently collectable merch: a collaboration T-shirt and tote bag available both at Tokyo Burnside and Hello sacai, the brand’s Tokyo flagship.

Created with the support of Nike, the gluten free waffles are a nod to sacai’s ongoing collaboration with the sportswear giant which premiered on the sacai runway during ອາທິດຄົນອັບເດດ: ປາຣີ Men’s in June 2018 with Sacai hybrids of classic Nike sneakers like the Blazer and the Dunk and, of course, the Waffle and the LD.

The ephemeral café is timed to coincide with the launch of a capsule collection of Nike x Sacai Apparel that you can actually wear featuring parkas, jackets, tops and pants dropping online and in-store December 23.

The sacai GASTRO menu features Chicken Coup Fried Chicken and Matcha Waffle, Triple C’s Corn Waffle, Crab Salad and Caviar, Black Power Waffle Chocolate Waffle and Plantine Ice cream plus Strawberry Haze Strawberry Waffle with Coconut Ice Cream. Visitors will also fine tea by Rocky’s Matcha traveling tea house and coffee from Californian export Blue Bottle Coffee.

Ghetto GASTRO is a three-member collective comprising Jon Gray, Pierre Serrao and Lester Walker with launched in 2012 in New York’s Bronx district. Originally known for its late night party series Waffles and Models. It produces food, events, and fashion — previous partnerships include Beats by Dre, Williams-Sonoma, Nike, and Target.

The trio has also collaborated with Wolfgang Puck on the Governors Ball menu for the Oscars and Rick Owens and Michelle Lamy have had them cater Thanksgiving dinners.

Most recent project is the Black Power Kitchen, a cookbook published in October celebrating Black culture via its recipes. The book was born out of a pandemic initiative between Ghetto GASTRO and nonprofit Rethink Food delivering thousands of meals to people in need across the Bronx. The name pays tribute to Black Panthers’ Stokely Carmichael who used it in relation to the group’s free breakfast program.

Takeout orders will be available at Tokyo’s Harajuku Standby, on December 24 and 25.
