This is the end, beautiful friends. The last day of February. March is dusting off its winter coat as we speak, ready to one-step out of hibernation and parade into the year of our lord, 2023. “Beware the Ides of March,” the soothsayer told Julius Caesar (according to Plutarch, as memorialized by William Shakespeare) and sure enough, the emperor of Rome was assassinated on the 15th of the month, by the very men he considered allies and friends.

Hopefully we all have less dire months ahead of us, though for my part it looks like the 1st of March—tomorrow!—will be more snow, to the tune of 18 – 24” on top of the mounds and piles we already have. I’m so used to be being buried in snow at this point, all I can do is throw my hands up in mock despair. Shoveling is a good workout if you can’t make it to the gym!

Holy Weihenstephaner! This was a pleasant surprise today! It’s been ages since I’ve gotten a word in two guesses (it took me a whopping ຫ້າ ມື້​ວານ​ນີ້). I was trying to guess something very similar to Wordle Bot’s favorite opening word—ກະທຽມ-and finally decided on slake, which was the closest thing I could come up with that wasn’t ກະທຽມ.

At the time, I didn’t realize just how good this word was. I was pleased (and surprised) to get the ‘K’ in green, and after fiddling with other vowels, all I could think of was polka. Nothing else came to mind, though later Wordle Bot informed me I had four choices: polka, lanky, balky ແລະ talky. I probably would have come up with ຂີ້ຄ້ານ eventually, but not the other two (at least not quickly!)

ໃນ​ກໍ​ລະ​ນີ​ໃດ​ກໍ​ຕາມ, polka was shockingly the right answer which means I get +2 for guessing in just two guesses and +1 for beating Wordle Bot (who got his answer in three guesses) for a grand total of 3 points! Huzzah! Huzzah! Huzzah!
